The Item ID System explained:

Model #, Color, Carry Option, Tooled/Untooled, Unit #

Some examples of color abbreviations are:
  • natural (not dyed or stained) - NAT
  • black - BLK
  • brown antique stain - BRNAS
For carrying options:
  • Belt clip - "C"
  • Belt loop - "L"
Tooled or Untooled - "T" or "U"
For example, an SC506 that is black, has a belt loop, has no custom tooling and is the 27th SC506 I have made, its unique Item ID would be:

"SC506BLKLU27"

1.  General Notes

The "Actual Price" is the price for an item that has already been made.
The "Base Price" is the price for an item without custom tooling or dyeing or modifications.
New units can be made on request.  No minimum number of units per order required for this product.
To request items that are not currently available, contact me to provide me with the following instructions:
 - Quantity desired
 - Color(s)
 - Carrying option(s) desired
 - If any custom tooling is desired.  There is an additional charge for custom tooling.

2.  Specific Utility Set Notes

I have no Utility Set designs for smartphones and currently am not planning to create one.  Here's why:
Because of the slimness of smartphones and because their touchscreens take up almost a full side of the device, to create a Utility Set for these devices will require a radically-changed case design.  It is my expectation that there is not sufficient customer demand to justify developing that kind of a new-product design.
Meanwhile, the large, primitive cell phone models of the early 2000's are essentially extinct.  Even the smaller cell phones that are still being sold are becoming increasingly rare.
Unfortunately, what that means is that the Utility Set - my own original pride and joy - is on its way to becoming obsolete.
Fortunately, however, some of the small cell phones are still being used.  And it will continue to be my pleasure to make Utility Sets for those users.  I know that the Utility Set has been a very useful product for me, personally, and I remain confident that others will like it too.

There are some special things to remember if you are considering requesting a Utility Set:
Like my Single Carrier line of products, Utility Set phone compartment dimensions vary according to the device they are intended to carry.  And also, like the Single Carriers, Utility Sets can be equipped with either the belt clip or belt loop carrying option.
  That's where the similarity ends.
Utility Sets can be configured in many different ways.  Even with today's small cell phones, Utility Sets can be made with flashlight pockets to fit either the Maglite Solitaire, which is perfectly cylindrical and uses a single AAA battery, or the Mini-Mag 2 AAA flashlight, which is flared at the bulb end.  That's why the pockets holding those two different flashlights have to be designed differently.
And there is the third option, which is not to have a flashlight pocket at all.  When requesting a new Utility Set that has not yet been made, you will need to specify which flashlight option you prefer.
On the other side of the Utility Set:  Here, too, even the small models can carry either the cases for the tiny Leatherman Squirt multi-tool, or the larger Leatherman Juice.  When requesting a Utility Set, you will need to specify which multi-tool case you prefer.
When a Utility Set is purchased, a multi-tool case is provided at no additional charge.  Of course, multi-tool cases can be purchased separately, but there is a minimum quantity required for ordering multi-tool sets on their own.  See the section on Multi-Tool Cases here.
