There Is A Purpose ...

I created the MY Music page on my website which was originally intended solely to be a display venue for my leather products.

However, long before I started making leather products, I was making music, and music truly is the thing that has always meant the most to me in terms of what I do.

But there's more to it than that -

I had put making music aside for quite a few years, and had even gotten rid of most of my music gear, thinking music would never be that important to me again.

That all changed in 2020 when all the covid stuff began.  I immediately saw that there was something fishy going on.  I immersed myself in self-education.  I had never known anything about viruses or masks or Constitutional rights and many other things.  But the more I educated myself, the more I could see that a massive program of deception was being forced upon the entire population, that it was very sinister, that it never had anything to do with public health, and that, at the very least, it was about population control - if not something else even worse.

Well, as things happened, it was at that time that I decided that I wanted to play my music again.  Most of all, I wanted to put together a band.  I discovered just how next to impossible it is for me, a basically unknown person, to put together a band, especially at my age.

So I decided I would break into it gradually by doing something that my late wife and I used to do, which was playing open mic nights.  I thought, "This will help restore my confidence, plus it will help me to meet other musicians."

Then what I discovered was that no places were having open mic nights anymore, at least not at that time.  In fact, I discovered that a lot of places that used to host open mic nights were totally closed down.

"This is a crime!" I thought to myself.  So I thought, "Well, I'll just stage my own impromptu concerts.  I'll just show up at some public place and put on an impromptu show.  And I'll do these shows as benefits to raise money to help music venues stay open."

Now, that's a pretty wacky idea, especially the way things were at the time, with people being arrested just for not wearing a mask, and all that kind of stuff.  Plus, with most of my music requiring at least a 4-piece band, and me being without a band to help me out, I had to come up with another idea.

I then envisioned a one-man-show whereby I could perform all of my repertoire and I would be the band.  It wasn't my preferred way to do it, but it was all I could come up with.

In order to do that, the most fundamental thing I would need would be multi-track recordings of my music.  I would play the lead parts live, while using the backing tracks as the band.  I pictured it to be something like what Karaoke performers do.

Well, the idea grew to be a much larger concept, in which I am still just now in the very early first stage, and I'm hoping I'll be able to proceed to 2nd, 3rd and 4th stages, which will require videoing me playing all parts (lead, rhythm, bass, etc.) of the whole program of songs, start to finish.

This idea I am calling the "As Live As I Can Make It" project.  I gave it that name because I want the audio of the video performances to be the actual audio as I played it; in other words, not an audio overdub onto the video.  It will require at least life-size video display equipment, so that I would not be, you might say, "lip-singing," but that what the audiences would hear would actually be what they would see me playing.  That will be Phase 4 of this project - to take it live on the road.

And the purpose of the As Live As Can Make It performances is to bring awareness to the injustices of such things as government overreach, as well as to counteract the harmful effects of the propaganda that's being poured out on the population every single day.  Because, I must say, I am intensely opposed to all forms of human behavior control.  Plus, I still want to do what I can to help live music venues to continue operating while all of the unjust restrictions are being forced upon them and their patrons as well.

Meanwhile, it is still my preference that I would be able to put on these performances with the help of a live band.  Therefore, I am constantly keeping my eyes open for ways to find band members.

And this is far from being a novel idea.  Musicians have long been among the first people to come together to hold benefit performances for worthy causes of all kinds.  Those are the type of band members I'm seeking.

If you play an instrument, or can operate a camera or a soundboard or can lay down and pick up cables, and you are interested in helping out with this worthy cause, I would be glad to talk to you.  Use the "Contact Me" form on the "My Music" web page.
