Dinner and A Song (or Two), Episode 1

About "Dinner and A Song (or Two)"

"Dinner and A Song (or Two)" was intended to be a facsimile of a typical weekly music and comedy TV show and was to contain (as this episode does) different segments.  My original plan was that there would be multiple episodes and the main segments were to be features of each episode.  Those segments were to be (1) "Music in Time," (2) "Dishes for the Cooking Challenged Bachelor," and (3), the "song or two" segment of the show which is actually a one-man-play type of continuing (but finite) story called "Me and My Uncle Berbert."

The "Me and My Uncle Berbert" segment is actually the primary reason for the creation of the "Dinner and A Song (or Two)" program, although the fact that it is the primary reason for the creation of the show is never mentioned in the course of the show.

And there is an underlying (and also unmentioned) reason for creating both "Me and My Uncle Berbert" and "Dinner and A Song."  That underlying reason is that it had been my intention to use "Dinner and A Song" as a way to present "Me and My Uncle Berbert," so that I could use "Me and My Uncle Berbert" to present a message that I want to give - 3 messages, actually, with the first message necessarily leading to the second, and the second message inevitably leading to the third.

The message was to be revealed inconspicuously, bit by bit with each instalment of the story.

My strategy changed, however, following my publishing of this episode.  I published this episode on Facebook and also on YouTube.  On YouTube it drew a microscopically small number of viewers, viewers who even quit viewing after only watching a minute or two of this 34-minute episode.  On Facebook it got literally no views at all.  So it was obvious to me that I was wasting my time to be putting that much work into producing a show that nobody was going to watch.

Therefore, as of the time of this writing (August 12, 2023), I'm considering changing my strategy to be that I'll only produce the "Me and My Uncle Berbert" segment, and post those instalments on this website and/or on External link opens in new tab or windowmy blogsite, and nowhere else but those two places.
